Dental Cost Index by US State (2026)

Healthcare costs vary dramatically depending on where you live. Below is our modeled dental cost index for each state compared to the US national average (1.00). Discover how your state ranks and compare costs against affordable treatment in India.

How the index works

An index of 1.30 (e.g. California or New York) means dental work in that state is modeled to be 30% higher than the national average. An index of 0.90 (e.g. Alabama) indicates costs are 10% lower. All calculations are modeled estimates. Learn more about our calculations on our Methodology page.
